Bethel College Chamber Orchestra set to perform in April

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The Bethel College Chamber Orchestra and Wind Ensemble are set to perform at the Everest-Rohner Auditorium on Bethel’s campus Thursday, April 12.

The show will start at 7:30 p.m. with the Chamber Orchestra being directed by Vicky Warkentien D.M.M. The Repertoire will include excerpts from “Symphony Fantastique, Op. 14a” by Hector Belioz as well as “Piano Concerto, Op. 54,” by Robert Schumann featured by Senior Music Performance major Joel Lininger as a soloist.

Under the direction of Mike Kendall, Ph.D., the Wind Ensemble will perform a number of works, including Robert W. Smith’s “ A Nation’s Strength” and “Rush by Samuel Hazo.

The Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and Jazz Combo will gather to perform on Friday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Everest-Rohner Auditorium as well.

The event will be directed by Reginald Klopfenstein, D.M., M.Mus.,  and the program will feature different Bethel students from a variety of academic majors performing a diverse program.

Jazz compositions will include “When the Saints Go Marching In,” Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Fantasy,” and many other classics.
