Bethel College holds annual campus-wide service day
MISHAWAKA, Ind.-Hundreds of students, faculty and staff members from Bethel College will participate in the school's 29th annual "Day of Service" on Tuesday.
All classes are cancelled until 6 P.M. to make sure everyone has the chance to get involved.
More than 800 people will volunteer at 40 different locations throughout Michiana. Organizations include Food Bank of Northern Indiana, Center for the Homeless, Unity Gardens and Pet Refuge.
Sponsored by the United Federal Credit Union, employees from UFCU will accompany Bethel volunteers.
UFCU Business Development Manager Brandon Williamson says "We are strong believers in giving back to our communities. We applaud Bethel College for bringing people together for this day of community service."
Volunteer work includes yard work, construction and painting.
Meet one Bethel student who is participating in his third Service Day:
Participants will be divided into groups and take buses from campus to their volunteer location. Service Day will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.
