Better Business Bureau: How you can help victims in Israel and Gaza

As war continues between Israeli military and Hamas militants, many people around the world might be asking how they can help victims of the ongoing attacks.
The Better Business Bureau offers a list of charities that are currently accepting donations for relief efforts. The following organizations are deemed BBB Accredited Charities:
- American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee
- Anera
- Helping Hand for Relief and Development
- International Rescue Committee
- Islamic Relief USA
- Jewish National Fund
- Mennonite Central Committee
- Oxfam America
- Penny Appeal USA
- Project HOPE
- Save the Children

Can the charity reach Israel and Gaza?
- Check if the organization you want to donate to has a presence in the countries.
Social media scams
- Verify the legitimacy of donation sources, as some could be scammers in disguise.
Sending food and clothing
- Local donation drives accepting food and clothing probably won’t be able to deliver these items in a timely manner.
Crowdfunding
- Donate to a crowdfunding site you trust, and one who is giving to an organization that’s reliable and legitimate. If you can, donate directly to that organization instead of going through crowdfunding.
Fundraising expenses
- If a charity says 100% of donations go straight to victims, verify how they do that.
