Bicyclist hit by car on South Bend's South Side

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A cyclist is recovering after getting hit by a car.
It happened just before 1:30 Tuesday morning on South Miami Street in South Bend.
Police say the driver of an Impala was backing out of a parking space when he rammed into a man riding a bicycle. The cyclist fell and received a gash in his face.
He was taken to Memorial Hospital and is expected to be OK.
