Bicyclist injured in vehicle accident

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. - A bicyclist was injured by a semi’s side mirror while riding along S.R. 120 Friday morning, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office reported.
At 5:52 a.m., troopers were called to the area of S.R. 120, just east of S.R. 15, for reports of an accident.
A bicyclist was traveling eastbound on S.R. 120 and was cycling on the south shoulder of the road.
A freightliner semi was also traveling eastbound on S.R. 120 and due to poor weather conditions, the driver of the semi did not see the bicyclist.
The semi driver struck the bicyclist with his passenger side mirror.
The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital for a broken left foot.
No citations were issued at the scene, reports said.
