BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- A bicyclist was killed Sunday in a collision with a car on Galien-Buchanan Road near Wells Road in Buchanan, Mich.

The bicyclist has been identified as 53-year-old Penny Ann Franks of Buchanan.

The car involved in the crash was driven by an 18-year-old woman from Weesaw Township, Mich.

At approximately 7:48 p.m. the Berrien County Sherriff's Office received reports of a crash involving a westbound bicyclist and a westbound passenger car.

Franks was found deceased at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene of the crash and has been cooperating with the investigation.

The Accident Investigation Team will continue to work to determine the cause of the collision. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor.
