Big Ten Conference announces conference-only schedule for fall sports

Image via Big Ten Conference The Big Ten Conference announced that fall sports will be limited to conference-only games. The decision was made out of concern for the medical safety of students and faculty.
The University of Notre Dame’s football team will no longer play its scheduled game on October 3 at Lambeau Field against Wisconsin this fall due to the Big Ten schedule change.
The Big Ten says that limiting sports to inter-conference games was based on the most current evolving medical advice and the fluid nature of the pandemic.
The conference also announced that all summer athletic activities will be voluntary.
Scholarships will still be honored for athletes during the 2020-21 academic year.
