Big temperature drop this weekend

It's only the first couple days of October and we are tracking the first big swing in temperatures for the first weekend of October.  Temperatures soared into the upper 70s on Thursday ahead of a cold front that is bringing rain for Michiana through Friday.  After those showers move through, cooler air settles, just in time for your weekend plans.  Just how cool are we talking?

For both Saturday and Sunday, highs will struggle to reach 50° for some parts of Michiana.  If you didn't think that was cold enough, overnight lows dip into the upper 30s Saturday night into early Sunday morning.

In the span of Thursday evening through Sunday morning, we will see a temperature shift of 40°.  Plus, to top it off, the last time we've seen highs in the 50s was May 17th, 138 days ago!  So, in preparation for any of your outdoor plans this weekend, just be ready to wear the layers.
