Vehicle collides with bike near Goshen, injures one

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – A car collided with a bike on Saturday morning, causing the bicyclist to suffer serious injuries, the Elkhart County Sherriff’s Office said.

The crash took place around 10:19 am at the intersection of CR 15 and CR 45, just a mile west of Goshen.

According to deputies, a 2008 Chrysler Grand Caravan was traveling east on CR 45, and allegedly failed to stop at CR 15 at the stop sign. As the vehicle continued through the intersection, the driver allegedly collided with a bike traveling south on CR 15 in the crosswalk of CR 45.

The bike rider suffered a head injury and other bodily injuries and was transported to the hospital, deputies said.

The driver of the Grand Caravan did not suffer any injuries but was cited for disregarding the stop sign, according to deputies.
