Body of 12-year-old boy recovered from Lake Michigan

BENZIE COUNTY, Mich.—The body of a 12-year-old boy was recovered from Lake Michigan on Wednesday, according to the Benzie County Sheriff’s Office.

Lane Frame, 12, of Tennessee, was swept from a pier in Frankfort, Michigan on September 21 while on vacation with his family, the sheriff’s office said.

Frame, along with an adult family member and an 11-year-old child, ventured on to the pier and were swept off by a large wave, police said.

The adult family member and the 11-year-old were able to climb out of the water but dive teams were called in to look for Frame.

Frame’s body was located Wednesday near the pier, according to the sheriff.
