Body of a woman washes up on beach at Indiana Dunes State Park

CHESTERTON, Ind. -- DNR officers just contacted ABC 57 News. They are investigating a body that washed up on the beach at the Indiana Dunes State Park near Chesterton.

At 8:38 a.m., someone walking along the shoreline spotted the body of a woman near the water’s edge.

Personnel from the Dunes State Park were notified and the Indiana Conservation Officers were called. The body was turned over to the Porter County Coroner’s office.

The autopsy should be complete in the next few hours. They say that they body appears to have been in the water for months.
