Body of man who tried to rescue dog found in Fletcher Lake

The search is over for a Logansport man who jumped into a Fulton County lake to rescue his dog Saturday evening.

Indiana conservation officers said they found the body of Michael Rorison in about thirty feet of water in Fletcher Lake around 10 p.m. Saturday.

Officials said Rorison was boating with a female friend and his dog.

When the dog jumped off the boat, they say Rorison went after it.

Rorison reportedly had difficulty swimming, so his friend tossed him a life jacket. But, they said he could not reach it.

The cause of the death is unknown but an autopsy was scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
