Body of missing swimmer found in Lake Tippecanoe

Divers have recovered the body of a man who possibly drowned while swimming in Lake Tippecanoe earlier this month, according to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department and the Kosciusko County Coroner's Office.

John Forbes Sr, 70, was with his wife, son and family friend on July 8 when he went under the water while swimming and never resurfaced.

Forbes body was found just after 9 p.m. Wednesday in approximately 70 feet of water by sheriff’s divers. His body was located close to the area where he was last seen.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
