Body of Valparaiso man found in Long Lake

VALPARAISO, Ind. -- The body of Keegan Whaling was discovered in the north end of Long Lake Sunday afternoon.

Indiana Conservation Officers were contacted by Crossman Consulting shortly after noon to report the finding of Whaling's body.

Officials say the young man was found in 8 feet of water approximately 60 yards off shore.

Authorities have been looking for Whaling in the lake since he was first reported missing around 7:00 a.m. on Sunday October 29th.

Officers learned that Whaling was canoeing with a friend when their canoe tipped over and they both fell in the water.

According to officials an autopsy has been scheduled for Monday and foul play is not expected.
