Water boil advisory lifted for Edwardsburg residents

UPDATE: The boil order is now lifted, according to Edwardsburg Water Superintendent Richard Low.


ORIGINAL STORY:

CASS COUNTY, Mich. - A boil water advisory is issued from Wednesday, October 25 to Saturday, October 28 to prepare for construction of a new iron removal plant.

The Village of Edwardsburg Water Department provides the advisory as a cautionary measure due to possible contamination during construction. 

Despite the advisory, the water department assures that construction will be isolated with safety measures in place to reduce risk as the work is occurring. 

To reduce risk, keep water usage to a minimum. 

The water department ask that the following water precautions be taken: 

  • Always boil your water before drinking. Boil for one minute and cool before using. Alternatively, use bottled water. 
  • Also, use boiled or bottled water for making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and preparing food, to kill bacteria. 

The Village of Edwardsburg Water Department asks that resident continue with the boil advisory until further notice.
