Boil advisory for residents of Topeka
LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Town of Topeka announced in a Facebook post that its residents located “North Main from Roy Street to Town Limits and Lehman Avenue” are under a boil advisory as of Monday.
Residents in this area are encouraged to bring tap water to a boil for at least three minutes that is being used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food while the advisory is in place.
The city announced construction crews hit a water main while working on a project.
This led to residents in the area with an advisory to have low water pressure.
Lose or low water pressure increases the possibility of residents receiving untreated water and harmful microbes in their water lines.
This advisory is expected to be in place for three to five days, beginning Monday.
