Boil water advisory for houses in Sturgis

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. – A boil water advisory has been issued for a number of houses in Sturgis due to a loss of pressure in the water distribution system caused by a water main break.

The following houses are affected by this advisory:

  • Neuman Street from N. Centerville Road to Second Street
  • First Street from Neuman Street to West Street
  • Second Street from Neuman Street to West Street

All residents impacted by the advisory should have also received a hard copy at home. A digital copy of the advisory can be found here.

Impacted residents should not drink water without boiling it first. Boiling or bottled water should also be used for things like making ice, washing dishes, preparing food, and brushing teeth.

The City of Sturgis is working to repair the water system and the advisory will remain in effect until results from the sampling deem the water safe to drink.

Impacted customers will be notified when the advisory has been lifted.

Residents with any questions can contact the City of Sturgis Department of Public Services at 269-651-2879.
