Boil water order in place for Wolcottville during water main repairs

MGN

WOLCOTTVILLE, Ind. -- The Town of Wolcottville announced a boil water advisory is currently in place.

The advisory notice is in effect for all water customers in town.

Officials say when water mains lose pressure, it increases the chance that untreated water and harmful microbes can enter your water.

Residents should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food until further notice.

The water is safe for non-consumption use such as hand washing and cleaning.

Town officials say water department crews are working on completing repairs.

Affected residents will be without water until further notice during repairs, and it's likely residents will need to boil water for the next couple of days.

Residents will be informed when tests show it's safe.

For water emergencies only, residents can contact 260-993-2003.
