Bomb squad called to Notre Dame campus

The South Bend Police Department's bomb squad responded to the Notre Dame campus Tuesday afternoon to inspect a briefcase.
The briefcase was discovered by a building services employee at the north entrance of the Pasquerilla West residence hall around 12:50 p.m.
The Notre Dame Security Police contacted the South Bend Police Department bomb squad.
The briefcase was examined and it was found to be empty.
Students and employees returned to their buildings around 2:30 p.m.
