BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and a local heating and cooling company is fighting cancer with furnace checkups.
Along with heating and cooling, BOSS Services also specializes in windows, electrical and 1-day bathroom upgrades.
BOSS Services is donating $20 out of every $69 furnace check up to Marie Yeager Cancer Center.
Furnace checks should be completed at least once a year to ensure the safety of your home and family, since a dirty furnace could potentially lead to health risks.
The checks also increase electrical and energy efficiency, and will lead to more money saved and fewer repairs in the long run.
The fundraiser has been going on throughout the entire month of October and will continue up until the 31st of this month.
The cancer center will then use the funds for those who may need some financial support for their cancer treatment.
Even with October is coming to a close, as long as you reach out to boss services about your furnace checkup before the end of the day on October 31st, your checkup proceeds will still go to benefit the Marie Yeager Cancer Center.
