BOURBON, Ind. – The Bourbon Police Department is warning residents of “prop” money that’s reportedly circulating around the area.

Police recently investigated two incidents of $100 bills being spent at local businesses. Both incidents have since been resolved.

The prop money has distinguishing features, including:

  • The word “COPY” in blue font on the front of the bill, bottom left-hand side
  • “FOR MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY” on the front
  • “IN PROPS WE TRUST” replaces “IN GOD WE TRUST”

Passing false money can be charged as a Level 6 Felony under Indiana Code 35-43-5-2.
