Break-in reported at Elkhart's Hall of Heroes

ELKHART, Ind. - The Elkhart Police Department is investigating a reported break-in at Elkhart's Hall of Heroes.

At 2:22 a.m. on Sunday, officers were called to the building, located on Cassopolis Street, for a back door alarm.

Once there, police discovered that the door on the south end of the building had a window smashed and the back doors seemed to have been forced open.

Police believe the back doors were opened at 2:03 a.m.

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office also responded and used a K9 officer to help clear the building.

After clearing the building, law enforcement found several destroyed superhero memorabilia display cases and several items missing, including comics worth several thousands of dollars.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Law enforcement continues to investigate the incident.
