UPDATE: One person declared dead after shooting in Downtown Goshen
ABC 57 UPDATE: The Elkhart County Coroner confirmed one person has died after a shooting at the corner of Clinton Avenue and Main Street in downtown Goshen.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 4:20 p.m. to the area of Clinton Street and 3rd Street in response to reports of gunfire.
Officers located a female suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Goshen Police Department confirms the suspect had fled the area prior to their arrival.
Witnesses provided information regarding the suspect’s vehicle, which was later located along with the suspect by another jurisdiction.
The Elkhart County Homicide Unit was requested to respond and has taken over the investigation.
There is no ongoing threat to the community at this time. The incident remains under active investigation.
ORIGINAL: GOSHEN, Ind. -- Elkhart County dispatch confirmed a person was shot multiple times in downtown Goshen, near 117 West Clinton Avenue.
The area near West Clinton Avenue is currently blocked off.
