UPDATE: South Shore cancels busing passengers between SBN and Carroll Ave., pole repairs complete

6:28 p.m., THURSDAY - UPDATE: South Shore officials report repairs have been completed following pole damage earlier Thursday in South Bend.

Effective immediately, busing substitution between Carroll Avenue and South Bend Airport stations has been canceled.

Regular train service between Michigan City and South Bend has resumed.

12:45 p.m. UPDATE: The SSL is reporting that due to pole repairs going on in South Bend, westbound Train 24 passengers at the South Bend Airport will be bused to Carroll Ave. Station, where they will board their SSL train and continue west.

"Buses are scheduled to arrive at the Airport in approximately 40 minutes," the SSL announced. "An Extra westbound Train 24 will depart Carroll Ave. Station at 12:15 p.m. and will make all scheduled stops between Carroll Ave. and Chicago." 

ORIGINAL: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Shore Line announced on Thursday morning that damage to a pole in South Bend has resulted in service being suspended around 11 a.m. between the Carroll Avenue and South Bend International Airport stations.

"South Bend passengers will be bused between South Bend and Carroll Ave. stations until repairs have been completed," the South Shore said. "Eastbound Train 7 passengers will detrain at Carroll Ave., and board buses for the South Bend Airport. There will be no service to Hudson Lake while busing is in effect."
