Breastfeeding anti-discrimination act passed in Michigan

Moms in Michigan who nurse their children will be protected under legislation signed into law by Governor Rick Snyder.

The breastfeeding anti-discrimination act gives women the right to nurse in any place open to the general public.

That includes stores, restaurants, and buses.

Under the law, owners and operators cannot deny services or goods to a woman simply because she is breastfeeding.

They also cannot post signs banning it.
