Bremen Police add E-Bike to their modes of transportation

BREMEN, Ind. -- The Bremen Police Department launched a new mode of transportation, an E-Bike. This new ride will allow officers to help patrol areas where it may be difficult for their SUV vehicle to patrol. You can expect to see an officer out on the bike paths or helping keep the public safe at larger community events.

The bike can go up to 28 mph, and while there is currently only one bike, ABC57's Sidney Moore was told you can expect to see dozens of officers taking their turn patrolling the town.

The bike is equipped with first aid materials along with lights and a siren to help keep the community safe.

The new E-bike is already implemented and receiving great feedback from the community. Officers are better able to connect with the public and educate on bike safety through using this mode of transportation.
