Brian Kelly: Max Redfield should be a go

Notre Dame football once again has injury questions this week, after losing their sixth starter for the year. This one a defensive player in safety Drue Tranquill.

Notre Dame lost Tranquill to a torn ACL in last Saturday's game against Georgia Tech, his second straight year suffering the injury.

Now Head Coach Brian Kelly says senior Nicky Barratti is going to have to play more of a role.

He also says he is activating freshman Mykelti Williams.

Kelly also expects safety Max Redfield to play Saturday after sitting out against Georgia Tech for a hand injury.

"A lot of that was predicated on his ability to tackle with his hand," said Coach Kelly. "He feels really good and confident that he can do that and we believe that is going to be the case."

Kelly went onto say that the position is evolving and we could see other players thrown in depending on what happens Saturday.
