Traffic stop for broken tail light leads to OWI arrest

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind.—The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department arrested one man following a traffic stop for allegedly operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

On February 3 at 8:37 p.m., officers performed a traffic stop on a 2005 Dodge pickup truck with a broken tail light at 8200 N 1150 W in Shipshewana, according to police reports.

During the stop, officers determined that the driver, Nicholas Leroy Meek of LaGrange, had been consuming alcoholic beverages, according to police reports. 

23-year-old Meek was arrested and booked into the LaGrange County Jail and charged with Operating While Intoxicated—Endangering a Person.
