Buchanan Area Senior Center holds series of life-planning classes

BUCHANAN, Mich. - The Buchanan Area Senior Center (BASC) has announced the launch of "My Legacy" classes, a series of life-planning classes to help those in retirement and those still working but planning their retirement.

Organizers say local experts will provide information on considerations along with strategies to succeed in retirement.

They say this applies whether you are already enjoying your golden years or still working and want to ensure you are set-up for success when you reach retirement.

The classes are free, but registration is required. You can register by calling 269-695-7119, emailing [email protected], or stopping by the BASC.

Classes will be held at the BASC at 810 Rynearson St. in Buchanan.

Dates and classes are listed below:

June18 - 6:30 p.m. - "What’s right for me: a Will, Trust, etc." with John Colip, Attorney, Butzel

June 25, 6:30 pm – "DIY Wills" with John Colip, Attorney, Butzel

July 2, 6:30 p.m. - "Navigating the Right Insurance Products for Retirement" with Alice Kring, retired/past owner of Redbud Insurance

July 9, 6:30 p.m. – "Living in Retirement: A Successful Foundation" with Justin Nurenberg, Edward Jones

July 16, 6:30 p.m. – "Advance Directives" with Julie Griffin, Corewell Health

Organizers say the classes will not only provide information to set you on course for successful retirement, but also relieve your family of concerns on how to handle your affairs.

The program is open to residents of Berrien County of any age.

“Whether you are retired or still working, the BASC wants to ensure that you are set up for a great retirement. It’s never too early or too late to set things in place to ensure the retirement you want”, said Executive Director of the BASC Adam Burck.
