Burglars break sliding glass door, attempt to rob resident

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Police are investigating an attempted robbery at a residence in the 1000 block of Clarinet Boulevard East.
The victim said just before 11 p.m. Friday, there was a knock on her front door. When she went to the door and looked outside, there was no one there.
A few moments later, she heard a gunshot and the glass in her sliding glass door shattered.
Two men entered her residence. One grabbed her and the other started searching the residence, police said.
The men demanded money, but the victim told them she didn't have any money.
They then left the residence without taking anything.
The suspects were described as black males wearing all black.
