Business owner accused of selling stolen automobile parts

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The La Porte County Sheriff's Office announced a local business owner has been arrested for allegedly selling stolen automobile parts.

The investigation began in May 2021 when deputies responded to a rural home in Clinton Township for a burglary in process.

That investigation led to a larger investigation into a business selling stolen automobile parts.

On May 6, detectives visited the business, Catalytic Exchange, LLC on US 421, where they observed automobile parts inside the building, reports said.

The following day, a search warrant was executed and several hundred automobile parts were recovered, deputies said.

The owner of the company, William Scott, was arrested on June 10 on one count of corrupt business influence.
