Buttigieg to meet with South Bend Common Council about tape scandal

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- On Wednesday night, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg is scheduled to meet with the City's Common Council and its attorney to talk about the tapes scandal at the police department.

The mayor is also scheduled to speak at a Young Professionals Network gathering in Granger the same evening.

Several council members have expressed concern about being able to finish the meeting before the mayor has to leave for Granger.

The mayor's office said he made the commitment to speak several weeks ago.
