California woman, 105, gets drivers license

GOLETA, Calif. -- A Santa Barbara resident who just turned 105 this week is now the oldest licensed driver in California.

Edythe Kirchmaier passed her driving test this week.

She also has a perfect driving record, no accidents, parking, or moving violations.

She is a volunteer for Direct Relief International and drives herself to volunteer each day.

"My husband had retired. I was 67 at the time and we decided to do volunteer work in another country. And Direct Relief sent us to Taiwan," said Kirchmaier.

Her husband died five years ago but her daughter calls her the Energizer Bunny. She says her mom has had a party nearly every day this week.
