Shawn D. O’Brien, Broc A. Jurkowski

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The La Porte County Sheriff's Office reports a deputy responded to the area of C.R. 1000 South and C.R. 125 East Sunday night regarding a single-vehicle crash in a field.

Upon arrival to the area, the responding deputy observed a Dodge pickup truck traveling west on C.R. 1000 South before eventually turning onto a dirt lane. The dirt lane ended up being where the crash was located.

At the scene, the deputy found a Jeep Wrangler on its side with the roof dislodged.

The previously observed truck was also on scene.

Authorities say the driver of the Jeep, identified as Shawn D. O’Brien, and the driver of the Dodge, identified as Broc A. Jurkowski, were both found to be impaired and arrested for Operating While Intoxicated.

O’Brien is charged with OWI w/passenger less than 18, a Level 6 Felony, and OWI Endangerment, A Misdemeanor.

Jurkowski is charged with OWI, A Misdemeanor, and OWI Endangerment, A Misdemeanor.
