(ABC)--- Capital One is offering free identity protection and credit monitoring services to those affected by a recent data breach. The breach is estimated to affect 100 million customers who applied for credit cards between 2005 and 2019.
Experts say there are other steps you can take to protect your information as well. The suggest obtaining free copies of your credit report annually at AnnualCreditReport.com, reviewing your accounts and loans to make sure your personal information is correct, verifying your transaction history, and temporarily freezing your credit until you need to apply for a new loan or credit card.Â
