Car crash injures two people

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 5:40 p.m. on Monday for a car crash at the intersection of SR 119 and CR 42 that sent both drivers to the hospital.

Police say that a vehicle was stopped on the east side of the intersection before pulling out into the path of a vehicle traveling southwest on SR 119, where the collision followed.

The driver that was originally stopped at the intersection was transported to Goshen Hospital for internal head and neck injuries.

That same driver was cited for failing to yield to a vehicle that did not have a stop sign, police say.

The driver traveling southwest drove herself to Goshen Hospital for bruising and blistering sustained from the crash.
