Car crash near County Road 127 in Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. - The Elkhart County Sheriff's office was called to the scene of a crash at 4:21 pm Friday near County Road 127 and County Road 56.

Nicholas Murphy, 19, was driving southbound on County Road 127 approaching County Road 56 when he failed to yield the right of way to another vehicle approaching the intersection.

Jared Trowbridge, 18, collided with Murphy's vehicle and was transported to Goshen Hospital for lower back pain.

Murphy was not transported for medical treatment, but did sustain hand abrasions during the accident.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash and alcohol is not a factor in this incident.
