Car crashes in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, Mich -- A car crash was reported on Cassopolis Street in Mason Township Saturday afternoon.

A northbound vehicle driven by Illinois resident, 60-year-old Charles Ingersol, illegally passed a vehicle waiting to turn left. He struck a southbound Fed Ex truck driven by Indiana resident, 48-year-old Stephen Delieghter.

Mr. Delieghter and his passenger, Indiana resident, 38-year-old David Trethewey, were injured and transported to the hospital. Mr. Trethewey was treated and released from Elkhart General Hospital. Mr. Delieghter was taken to Memorial Hospital where he is listed in stable condition. All other were treated and release on the scene of the accident.

Alcohol is not believed to be factor in the crash. And all were believed to be wearing their safety belts.

The case remains under investigation.
