SOUTH BEND - The slick roads following Monday's snow caused a car to slide off in front of an oncoming South Shore Line train.
South Bend Police say it happened around 9:20 p.m. near the tracks at Greene and Bendix. There were no reported injuries.
It capped off a busy night for South Bend Police, which responded to 27 crashes between 7 a.m. and 9:45 p.m., Monday. Comparatively, SBPD said officers responded to 15 crashes the Monday prior, Dec. 11, when conditions were dry.
The South Shore Line crash caused delays to at least two eastbound routes. The car involved was towed away around 11 p.m.
