Car strikes tree, one sent to the hospital
CASS COUNTY, Mich.- A driver lost control of his car, struck a tree and needed to be freed car by firefighters to be taken to the hospital on Sunday, Cass County Sheriff’s Office said.
The crash happened on the 2600 block of Terminal Street in Howard Township of Cass County around 1:57 p.m.
After an investigation, deputies concluded that the driver was traveling east on Terminal Street when he lost control and struck a tree, the report said. Howard Township Fire Department assisted with freeing the driver from the car, according to deputies. He was transported to a hospital due to his injuries, deputies said.
However, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol are a factor in the crash, deputies said. The driver was wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.
This crash remains under investigation.
