Cardboard cutout of cop deters crime

BOSTON -- Boston Police have found a cheap way to deter crime.

They're using cardboard cutouts of officers to cut down on crimes like bike theft.

Officers say it's simple, but it works.

Police say the time it takes to see the cutout is enough to discourage would-be thieves.

They also say stationing an officer at the location full-time year round would cost around $200,000.
