Case manager volunteers needed for flood recovery

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -

The Michiana Flood Long Term Recovery Group is looking for people to volunteer as case managers for those affected by the historic flooding in South Bend this past August.

If you are interested in volunteering, no experience is necessary - you just must attend a two day training session.

St. Joseph County Emergency Management says there are 200 households that need significant help.

"We have a list, initial list almost 1000 households, narrowed down to 200 people that need significant help, furnaces, water heaters, and things of that sort dangerously close to winter weather season so its paramount we move forward as quick as we can," said John Antonucci, Director of the St. Joseph County Emergency Management Agency.

The training sessions will be held at the Catholic Charities Offices on Miami Street in South Bend.
