Cass County to enter contract negotiations with new county administrator

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Board of Commissioners has selected the next county administrator.
The county held a special meeting on Thursday, May 22, the board unanimously moved to enter contract negotiations with Patrick Jordan, who most recently served as county administrator in Ionia County, Michigan.
Jordan’s appointment is subject to a background check and contract negotiations.
The decision was made after extensive review of more than two dozen applications and a rigorous interview process, which included two rounds of interviews with the Board of Commissioners and a town hall style interview with the public and staff.
“This unanimous decision shows unified support among the Board of Commissioners for the County’s chief appointed employee,” said Jeremiah Jones, chair of the Board of Commissioners. “We look forward to working with Mr. Jordan to continue building on the strong foundation already in place and welcome him to Cass County.”
The search was facilitated with help from Michigan Leadership Institute, a consulting firm specializing in hiring county administrators and school superintendents. More information and updates will be provided as negotiations are finalized.
