CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County chapter of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) held its annual fundraiser and celebration on Friday night and ABC57's own Allison Hayes was there to emcee the event.

"Tonight, we are celebrating the Casa All Stars," said Cass County CASA Board President Hope Anderson.

"So, we're celebrating with our annual fundraiser. This is where we are celebrating all the volunteers that make such a difference for Cass County CASA.

Organizers say, on average, the cost to support a child that needs a CASA volunteer is about $1,200 per child, and these funds will go to help to support that mission.

"The Cass County CASA has is making a big difference in Cass County in the lives of the children in our community. We have so much support, and it's very evident from what you can see here today that people come out and they really support our mission, because they love the children in our community and want to make sure that any child that's in the foster care program has the support they need to be able to thrive," Anderson said.

"Cass County CASA volunteers make such a difference in the lives of children who need support. They need that individual, someone that's going to walk alongside them as they navigate the foster care system. So they really make such a big difference in the lives of children. So we're all here today to celebrate the volunteers that do that work, the board members that do that work, and also to celebrate, to raise money, and also to just raise money for this mission, so that we can keep doing this good work. Whoa,"
