Cass County crash sends motorcyclist to Memorial Hospital

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- Authorities say a motorcyclist disregarded a stop sign in Jefferson Township on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in him being taken to the hospital.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office says the call came in around 2:55 p.m. for reports of a crash in the area of Pine Lake Street and Hess Road and a preliminary investigation indicates that 31-year-old Patrick Davis, of Three Rivers, was driving a motorcycle east of Pine Lake Street when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a truck heading north on Hess Road.

Davis was transported by SMCAS ambulance to Memorial Hospital for injuries and the crash remains under investigation.

"Alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash," authorities said. "A helmet was not worn at the time of the crash."
