Search of vehicle leads to 2 arrests in Cass County
CASS COUNTY, Mich. – Two people were arrested Tuesday morning by the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team following a traffic stop.
According to police, at approximately 9:33 a.m. Oct. 23, the drug enforcement team was in the location of Mathews Street and Wilbur Hill Road when they noticed a suspicious looking vehicle without plates.
After pulling the vehicle over, deputies discovered two 41-year-old subjects had warrants out for their arrest.
Both suspects were taken into custody.
After searching the vehicle, the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team discovered a .22 caliber semi-automatic handgun, methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The male suspect was taken into custody for DWLS Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Methamphetamine, Felony Firearms and had existing warrants for Larceny and Breaking and Entering, police say.
Authorities say the female suspect was taken into custody for a misdemeanor warrant.
The names of the arrested are being withheld at this time.
The case is under investigation.
Dowagiac Police and Pokagon Police assisted the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team at the scene.
