Cass County renovates historic courthouse

CASS COUNTY, Mich. — The Cass County community is invited to an open house celebrating the renovation of the historic Cass County Courthouse on Friday, Oct. 11, from 3 to 6 p.m.

The renovations, approved by the Cass County Board of Commissioners in October 2022, have transformed the courthouse, which had been vacant since 2003. The building will now house several key county offices, including the County Administrator, Clerk/Register of Deeds, and Treasurer, while the courthouse annex will continue to host county partners like Cass County CASA and Michigan Works.

Funded through the American Rescue Plan Act and a USDA grant, the project honors the building’s historic architecture while modernizing its function.

A ribbon cutting will take place at 4 p.m., and guests can enjoy light refreshments and tours throughout the event.

Join the celebration and witness the revitalization of this landmark in Cass County.
