Cass County Sheriff's Office respond to crash that left two injured

CASS COUNTY, Mich. – The Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash that occurred in Howard Township.
The crash took place on Pine Lake Street, near the M 60 intersection.
A 20-year-old South Bend female was the driver of the vehicle that went off the road and struck a tree.
She was treated at Borges Hospital in Dowagiac.
The passenger, a 19-year-old male from Dowagiac, was transported to Lakeland Hospital in Niles for minor injuries.
Both occupants were reported to have been wearing seatbelts.
Intoxicating substances are believed to have been a factor in the crash.
The crash still remains under investigation.
