Cause of Milton Township fire still under investigation

MILTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The cause of the house fire on Bertrand Street is still under investigation, according to Niles Township Fire.

The fire chief says there were no explosions - neighbors just heard the "flash fire" where the fire spread rapidly through the home.

Jerry Tedder was taken to the hospital with burns on 25-percent of his body. He is currently in the hospital in Kalamazoo.

His wife, Brenda, was not injured in the fire.

State fire investigators are on the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

Niles Township Fire's chief said the fire did not appear suspicious.
