Celebrate the Halloween season with Eerie Elkhart County: Tales and Treats
BRISTOL, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Historical Museum will host Eerie Elkhart County: Tales and Treats, a family-friendly event filled with spooky stories and folklore about the county, on Oct. 3 from 7 to 8 p.m.
Attendees will gather around an indoor "campfire" to hear ghost stories and more from Elkhart County’s past.
The free program is suitable for all ages, and kids are encouraged to bring their favorite blanket or sleeping bag to cozy up with.
Museum staff will recite county-wide favorites like the Giant Ghost of Benton and the Cable Line Monster, and some new tales.
“We’re excited to bring in some stories from immigrant groups who brought their scary stories with them to Elkhart County,” said Curator of Education Jenifer Blouin Policelli.
Staff from Elkhart Public Library will also be at the event sharing stories from the area’s Latino population.
A representative from the Bristol, Indiana Heritage Society will also share a spooky tale related specifically to Bristol.
There will also be free campfire-themed snacks.
No reservations are required.
You can learn more about the event on the Elkhart County Parks website.
